Job Description
If you are looking to broaden your industry experience and progress your career within cost management, our Northeast team are seeking experienced Senior Cost Managers for roles within the Utilities sector. We are seeking individuals with an active interest in supporting our Utilities clients working on a range of industry-leading infrastructure projects. Our roles are flexible between site-based, office, and home working.
As a Senior Cost Manager within the business, you will be working on some exciting projects as well as developing your skillset both operationally and technically. We are keen to support those who are eager to progress their careers and can offer you excellent training and advancement in qualifications and diversifying your portfolio, alongside an excellent rewards package.
Job Objectives:
1. Establishing friendly, professional, and appropriate relationships with clients, colleagues, and other parties involved in the projects and programmes we support.
2. Managing staff and programmes of works within multi-discipline teams, whilst ensuring collaborative behaviours are maintained as well as strong commercial tension.
3. Administering a variety of contracts in accordance with Client objectives and policies in a multi-disciplined environment.
4. Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion in line with budget.
5. Collaborating with client and contractor teams to manage the delivery of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering with a TOTEX approach.
6. Managing contract change effectively, ensuring that projects remain within governance and adopt best practice.
7. Proactively providing sound commercial knowledge and support to all stakeholders.
8. Leading and mentoring people and commissions as needed.

It is imperative for those joining the team to adopt excellent communication skills as your role is heavily reliant on forming strong stakeholder relationships across multi-disciplinary teams. We are a team that prides ourselves on working collaboratively and a best-for-project attitude that ensures sharing practice for our clients and colleagues.
Experience in the following:
1. Contract Management (NEC3/4, Option C preferred)
2. Risk Management
3. Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project life cycle
4. Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
5. Ideally hold or be working towards an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent.
6. Ideally, but not essential, would have experience in the utilities sector
7. Ideally be able to clearly demonstrate success in working/leading in large multidiscipline teams in a collaborative framework environment.
