This role involves the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical control elements on prototype products. The Development VIE provides a critical interface between engineering, prototype build, and production assembly, liaising with engineering, planning, and production to ensure a fast and efficient introduction of new vehicles. The role includes generating ideas and concepts to ensure all work can be replicated for mass production, along with any other duties associated with the post. The Role: Responsible for installation of electrical systems, commissioning & programming of prototype products. Responsible for ensuring that the vehicles are built to Wrightbus's electrical standards and requirements, WES, WMP's, drawings, etc. Responsible for the modification or alteration of looms as required by vehicle design during the assembly process. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues with electrical systems, harnesses and installations Responsible for training with regard to testing and repair of all electrical circuitry during the process of assembly or thereafter. Able to work in a Team, alone or unsupervised depending on development Programme. Able to read and work from engineering drawings and manuals. Able to communicate with engineers and planners on job-related technical requirements. Be good at problem solving and endeavour to continually reduce defects and improve Wrightbus quality of work. Responsible for the compliance with the Company's health and safety policy and procedures. Carry out duties of the post in accordance with the equal opportunity policy. The Requirements Automotive electrician At least 5 years' experience in electrical systems & equipment within an automotive development / production environment. Cable sizing, routing & termination. Wiring harness manufacture. PLC control systems. Multiplex electrical systems. Vehicle diagnostics & fault finding.
