An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to help the Band 7 team within the Emergency department at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.
As a junior sister/charge nurse, you will be required to have well-developed triage skills and experience coordinating different areas of the emergency department including the resuscitation areas.
As well as a 4-bedded resuscitation area, our department has a co-located Urgent Care Centre, a children's CYPU, and access to SDEC and AMA for direct referrals.

You will be supported every step of the way by our senior nurses, the CPE team, and your colleagues.
The successful candidate will be able to role model continuous professional behavior and demonstrate through personal behavior the core values of the Trust. They will be keen, approachable, and possess a friendly manner towards patients, nursing, and the multidisciplinary team.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in helping the band 7 team with the continuous improvement of the department, effectively monitoring and maintaining excellent standards of care that are reflected by patient experience.
Main duties of the job
As a Sister/Charge Nurse, you will support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needs of our patients are met through the delivery of high-quality care. The role involves working as part of a large multidisciplinary team including the ED medical team, clinical practice educators, safeguarding, mental health liaison team, and clinical specialties. The Sister/Charge Nurse works clinically, including unsocial hours, and will be expected to work competently in all areas of the Emergency Department as well as being able to independently take charge of them.
The Sister/Charge Nurse will assist their Team leader with managing their own team of nurses and ensuring they meet their potential.
As a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse in our busy Emergency Department, you will have the opportunity to work in all areas including children's CYPU alongside the registered children's nurses to increase your skill set and competency.
You will be actively involved in retention and recruitment. You will also be responsible for link roles, giving you the opportunity to drive change and improve standards.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 per annum/pro rata
