The IWS approach is a model of continuous improvement and one way of working, and the Operations Manager will lead the site through the Autonomous Maintenance (AM) pillar of IWS. The Operations Manager will be accountable for all aspects of the operations in two of the key factories at KP Ashby. Leading, coaching, and developing the site line structures (Line Lead, Process Lead, Maintenance Lead) 24/7 Responsibility of their part of KP Ashby directly Leading 24/7 Managers and Production Managers. A clear sense of ownership and determination to deliver beyond expectations Delivering against a set of strong KPI’s striving for continuous improvement Autonomous site operational responsibility – leading with engineering and manufacturing. Strong track record of delivering positive, successful change in a food manufacturing environment. Deployment of IWS (lean approach) and lead pillar activity striving for zero loss and 100% colleague involvement Strategic input and Profit & Loss management Delivering a balanced scorecard across SQCPDM (Safety, Quality, Cost, Productivity, Delivery and Morale Leads the AM Pillar at site and develops strategic long term and short term (referred to as master & 90-day plans in IWS) to address losses and build capability. Job requirements The Candidate Degree Qualified or demonstrated equivalent experience. At least five years’ experience as a Operations/ Manufacturing Manager Previous experience on a Leadership Team with a proven record of driving cross functional improvement. Experience of working in the food industry Has a understand of an Engineering function and the key KPI’s that drive the department. Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety and Technical requirements for a food factory Strong analytical skills Demonstrates problem solving skills using relevant tools Demonstrates adherence to safety and quality standards Experience in the FMCG manufacturing industry, including engineering and project management. Strong business acumen with the ability to drive focused improvement using financial data Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and IWS/ Six Sigma Excellent communication skills will challenge in a positive manner and promote team working. Demonstrable leadership skills with a track record of engaging and developing people. Very forward thinking and process orientated. Autonomy and self-drive to deliver and succeed.
