JOB PURPOSE
As Assistant Company Secretary at Burberry, you will provide an efficient and high-quality company secretarial service to the Group. The Company Secretariat team is responsible for supporting Burberry in promoting the highest standards in corporate governance, public disclosures and regulatory filings. This role encompasses activities relating to Burberry Group plc as the listed parent company, as well as administering subsidiary and joint venture companies globally.
This Assistant Company Secretary role is offered on a fixed term contract basis for a 12-month period, working on a hybrid basis (2 days per week in office) from our Horseferry House 2 office in London.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assisting with the delivery of the Burberry Annual General Meeting, and preparation and production of the Burberry Annual Report
* Working with the Reward team on relevant aspects of the Group's all employee and discretionary share schemes, and assisting with the programme of activities to manage the share register/shareholder communication
* Drafting and releasing Stock Exchange announcements, maintaining records and overseeing processes in relation to share capital
* Ensuring compliance with the requirements of Companies Act and UK Listing Rules
* Acting as Secretary to Burberry's Data Privacy Steering Committee
* Providing Company Secretarial expertise to various Burberry subsidiaries, mainly within the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions in partnership with third party suppliers and lawyers
PERSONAL PROFILE
* Corporate Governance Institute qualified
* UK listed company experience
* Strong technical knowledge of the UK Listing Rules & DTR, Market Abuse Regulation and Companies Act
* Experience of the governance and administration of subsidiary entities, including accounts approval, director and shareholder meeting processes and dividend payments
* Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
* Working knowledge of Diligent Entities
* Highly organised, with exceptional attention to detail
* Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and communicate at all levels
* Exemplary ability to develop and maintain key relationships, working as part of a cross-functional team
* Self-motivated, with collaborative and team-orientated approach
