Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and organised Design & Technology Technician to support the delivery of high-quality lessons in one of our reputable secondary schools in Wakefield. About the Role: As a Design & Technology Technician, you will provide essential support to teachers and students, ensuring that practical lessons run smoothly and safely. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment, preparing materials, and assisting with the practical aspects of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare, set up, and maintain equipment and materials for Design & Technology lessons, including woodwork, metalwork, electronics, and CAD/3D printing.
* Ensure the safe and efficient operation of tools, machinery, and classroom resources.
* Support teachers and students during practical lessons, offering guidance and technical expertise.
* Conduct regular safety checks, maintenance, and repairs on equipment in line with health and safety regulations.
* Manage stock levels, order materials, and ensure all resources are available for lessons.
* Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, servicing, and safety inspections.
* Promote a safe and organised learning environment by following strict health and safety protocols.
Who Can Apply?
* Individuals with previous experience as a D&T Technician or a background in engineering, design, carpentry, or a related technical field.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within a school or workshop setting.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support both students and teaching staff.
* A valid DBS certificate on the update service is desirable.
