A bit about the role We're looking for dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our team at our Residential home in Hexham. In this role you'll provide essential support to children with moderate to severe learning and or complex health and physical disabilities, ensuring their safety and wellbeing. As Residential Support worker your responsibilities include assisting with any needs including personal care, preparing paperwork for the next shift team, ironing uniforms and completing house chores. As a residential support workers you will work within a team that provides person centred care and tailored support to each child meeting their individual needs in accordance with their care plan. About the service Monksfield provides a warm caring comfortable environment for children aged 6-17 years with moderate to severe learning and or complex health and physical disabilities. We have two homes Acorn provides short breaks & Adlin House is a 4-bedded long-stay Children's Home. Both Homes are on the same site. We are a highly motivated and supportive team, providing care, encouragement and support to the children who stay with us. As a Residential Worker, you will provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with all aspects of their care. You will also be responsible for supervising and developing members of the staff team and acting as a positive role model. How you'll help to create brighter futures Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc. Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements. Ideally you will have: Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role Possess a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent) or if you do not possess this you must be prepared to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment with us, full support will be provided.
