Part Time Reception/EYFS Teacher
Location: PRESTON
The Headteacher and Governing Body of a larger than average Primary School in Preston are looking to secure an experienced Early Years Teacher to work on a 0.5 basis in school alongside a partner Reception Class teacher. The successful candidate will be required to work Wednesday mornings and all day Thursdays and Fridays. This role is covering a long-term absence and is due to continue through the Autumn term and potentially into September 2025.
Qualifications:
We would preferably like a teacher who has a specialism in EYFS with their QTS qualification or has at least two years experience teaching pupils in Nursery or Reception. Additionally, the school requires applying teachers to be able to evidence experiences of working alongside children with challenging behaviour and special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a class of 30 children and effectively deploy and utilise support staff.
2. Encourage learning opportunities and gather assessment information.
3. Experience following the Letters and Sounds Phonics Scheme is essential.
4. Collaborate with the Deputy Head teacher for joint planning and assessment management.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for the flexibility to work in a GOOD EYFS department where you will truly feel valued by the Senior Leadership Team and your colleagues. TO START - JANUARY 2025.
The School:
The general catchment of the school is mixed, with a number of children arriving from socially deprived backgrounds, and some children receiving additional funding through PP and SEN interventions. The behaviour policy is consistently used by the staff, and children have good routines and make good decisions. The Head teacher is keen to meet candidates who can show examples of managing challenging behaviour effectively.
Working through Teaching Personnel:
You will be paid on a weekly basis with competitive rates of pay, have access to a smart new online portal, and a good number of subsidised CPD opportunities.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details. This advert is for a temporary position, with the option to make this role permanent potentially available at a later date.
