Description GPP Database Link Job Summary: Responsible for the safe conduct of their assigned flights. Key Responsibilities: Supervises First Officers and Flight Attendants assigned to their flight and delegates tasks as appropriate Acts as the pilot in command of flights for which the pilot has been scheduled; complies with schedules and other directives governing the aircraft’s operation; ensures that preflight inspections are performed. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, local, and foreign regulations as well as compliance with policies and procedures as described in the standard operating procedures manual. Studies weather conditions at the destination, en route, alternate airports and departure points; makes decisions necessary to start, delay, or cancel flights or deviate from planned route or destination when operation conditions dictate. Prepares or reviews prepared flight plans; reviews and calculates aircraft weight and balance, fuel on board, and performance charts; uses checklists. Ensures that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers; provides excellent customer service to passengers. Aviation Leadership and Teamwork - Understands and agrees with the crew’s roles and objectives. Aviation Regulations and Policies - Understands and complies with the policies and regulations set forth by the FAA and State Authorities. Knowledgeable of the Federal Aviation Regulations, Corporate Aviation Manual and General Operations Manuals, as appropriate. Flight Path Management - Controls the aircraft using both manual and automatic methodologies with accuracy and smoothness as appropriate to the situation.
