We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher to join our Science department in Senior School. This is a full time position (1 FTE), starting in September 2025.
Responsible for teaching Science at Key Stage 3, and possibly Biology and/or Physics at Key Stage 4 & 5, you'll work with fellow teaching colleagues to ensure the effective and high-quality delivery of the curriculum to students aged 11 - 18 years (including iGCSE & A-Levels). The successful candidate should have recognised teaching qualifications (ideally PGCE and/or B. Education) and a minimum three/four years' experience of teaching in a UK school, or an international school for the British curriculum.

Role and Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare curriculum for assigned timetabled classes and groups
* Develop appropriate and differentiated schemes of work to ensure that the aims and objectives for the teaching of Science are delivered
* Monitor and track pupils’ achievements at regular intervals
* Secure and sustain effective teaching of each subject, including evaluation of quality of teaching and standards of pupils’ achievements
* Ensure the discipline and safety of all pupils in the assigned groups and classes
* Deliver high quality teaching, learning, and curriculum development across the Key Stages
* Keep up to date with subject development and take part in in-service training
* Participate in arrangements for preparing pupils for internal and external examinations
* Make provision for students of differing ability in all subjects
* Create a stimulating class environment that promotes and encourages pupils to feel empowered and take ownership of their learning
* Provide opportunities for the use of digital technology within the curriculum
* Create a culture of achievement where students wish to do their best
* Perform the roles and responsibilities of a form tutor, working closely with the pastoral team to provide care and support for the well-being of the pupils
* Demonstrate and inspire an enthusiastic and committed approach to extra-curricular activities
* Participate in meetings relating to the curriculum and organisation of the school
* Take part in the review, development and management of activities relating to the curriculum and organisation of the school
* Consult and liaise with parents and attend meetings
* Participate in professional development and training
* Be involved in the development and delivery of extra-curricular activities and opportunities across the Key Stages
* Work collaboratively with other members of the school
* Identify appropriate resources for the subject and ensure they are used effectively and safely, including off-site facilities and school residential trips
* Develop and implement subject policies, plans, target, and practices
* Participate in the break duty rota, as assigned
* Undertake cover duties for colleagues, as assigned
* Carry out such other duties as necessary, to meet the needs of the school (as directed by the Head of School and Principal)
Person specification
Experience
* Minimum three/four years’ experience of teaching in a UK school, or an international school for the British curriculum, including GCSEs and A Levels.
* Experience teaching Science across Key Stage 3 (KS3)
* Experience teaching Physics or Biology at KS4 & KS5
* Experience of teaching pupils with English as an additional language
* Experience of working with a range of pupils at all levels
Essential skills, knowledge and abilities
* UK-qualified teacher with recognised teaching qualifications (PGCE, B.Ed)
* Excellent communication skills
* Positive, good-humoured, and enthusiastic manner
* Enthusiasm that can inspire others
* Proficient ICT and EdTech skills
* Desire to teach in an international school environment
* This teaching position is not suitable for NQTs
