MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To undertake all duties in line with the training and instruction provided by the Practice Nurse and General Practitioners. 2. Assistance at clinics ensuring patient care by chaperoning and assisting patients to dress and undress. 3. Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure and blood sugar levels. 4. The testing and result recording of clinical specimens. 5. Provide assistance in minor operations ensuring patient care by chaperoning. 6. Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples. 7. Undertake ECG, Spirometry and 24 hour BP testing. 8. Assist with the provision of health checks for newly registered patients, dementia, learning disabilities annual reviews and NHS Healthchecks. 9. Ensure adequate stock and order accordingly in assigned areas 10. Consultation for first and ongoing smoking cessation, along with the submission of claim forms for payment. 11. To ensure adequate clinical stock levels and medical stationery and maintain an effective stock management system, including Drs Bags 12. Organise and conduct weight reduction clinics and offer individual support 13. The checking and recording of medical supplies on receipt. 14. Receiving telephone messages in the treatment room, recording and transmitting accordingly. 15. Assist in baby development clinics by weighing measuring length and head circumference 16. Provide testing for Helicobacter breath tests 17. Provide support for review appointments for example - Mental health and Dementia and the processing of the necessary forms BDI and MMS. 18. Carry out vaccinations for B12, Influenza and Pneumonia as per PSD guidelines. 19. Assist with the organisation and provision of Minor Surgery Clinics. 20. The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system. 21. Use of the Practice clinical system for patient searches for clinics and patient recall. 22. Ensure and order adequate amounts of Patient Information Leaflets 23. Ensure adequate infection control procedures in treatment and consulting rooms. 24.
