It is also associated with a small number of charitable trusts which have general purposes connected with the University. We are seeking an experienced manager to ensure compliance with financial, governance and regulatory requirements within our subsidiary companies and associated charitable trusts. Salary dependent upon skills and experience. The Role Assume the responsibilities of the nominated officer or company director for subsidiary companies to strategically advocate for and protect the University's interests Proactively liaise with board members, external stakeholders, and financial experts to gather insights, build partnerships, and strengthen the University's interests Maintain memorandums of understanding, service level agreements and register of corporate appointments Build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders Your Skills Educated to degree level ideally with a professional qualification in e.g. finance, legal or governance Strong experience within a finance, legal or governance function in a large organisation Substantial experience working with Boards, preferably within Higher Education Clear experience of working with and within governance and organisational models including the ability to use and interpret technical and financial data at the highest level of an organisation Able to interpret and express information and ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing Able to persuade and influence others, develop and maintain strong and effective relationships and a proven ability to interpret and implement policies and procedures and communicate them effectively Benefits The University offers an excellent benefit package including: 41 days annual leave, inclusive of Bank Holidays Defined benefits pension schemes Flexible working options Family-friendly initiatives Career development opportunities Support for health & mental wellbeing Discounts on shopping Rental deposit scheme Public transport season ticket loans Tax-efficient bicycle and charity-giving schemes Location The University is supportive of hybrid working, where some work is undertaken on University premises and some in a remote working environment.
