The hours for this role are compressed over four days, working 7:00am-4:30pm Monday - Thursday.
Responsibilities
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for:
1. Inspecting sheet metal parts to approve them ahead of the final heat-treat or external treatment stages in line with customer requirements (count, physical check, specific measurements, and any additional customer requirements).
2. Providing the team with direct timely feedback on product non-conformities, highlighting any training needs to supervisors, and assisting them with any technical queries.
3. Seeking out and driving continuous improvements to identify and resolve issues within your control, contributing towards wider continuous improvement activities.
Ideally, you will have:
1. Excellent communication skills.
2. A good team working ethic, being highly pro-active and motivated.
3. The ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings.
4. Excellent customer-facing skills with a proactive approach to problem solving.
5. A solid engineering background.
6. A good understanding of the quality management systems (QMS) in either Aerospace or Automotive industry.
7. Understanding of AS9100.
8. FAIRS process experience preferred.
9. Experience of various inspection tools and the ability to understand inspection reports.
10. A good understanding of sheet metal inspection and manufacturing techniques, with additional assembly understanding.
11. IT literacy, particularly in SAP, Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
12. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills (Lean/Six Sigma knowledge preferred).
13. The ability to work flexible hours should the business need arise.
