GSL Education are looking for a Behaviour Support Worker to join a dedicated and supportive team at a school in Bovington. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support, helping them to manage their behaviour, engage in learning, and achieve their personal goals.
Job Summary
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will support students in Bovington who experience behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to develop strategies that promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being. Your role will involve providing individual support to students, using a variety of approaches to help them manage their behaviour and succeed in their learning environment.
Responsibilities
As a Behaviour Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting students with behavioural challenges both inside and outside the classroom.
* Working alongside teachers to implement behaviour management strategies and individual learning plans.
* Encouraging positive behaviours and providing a safe, supportive environment for students.
* Building strong relationships with students, staff, and parents to support students' well-being.
* Providing guidance and emotional support to students, helping them develop social skills and resilience.
* Monitoring and recording student progress and behaviour.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural needs.
* A positive, calm, and empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviour.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
* A valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
* Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3, training in Childcare or Behaviour Support, are desirable but not essential.
