We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Disability Support Workers to join our team in Central Scotland. This flexible role offers the opportunity to empower individuals to live independently, achieve personal goals, and thrive in a safe, inclusive environment., 1. Support and Care Delivery:
* Deliver person-centred care tailored to individual needs and preferences.
* Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
* Encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.
* Support the development of life skills to enhance independence.
2. Health and Well-being:
* Safely administer and manage medication in line with organisational policies and SSSC guidelines.
* Use trauma-informed care approaches to support emotional regulation and recovery.
* Collaborate with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and other relevant professionals to address mental health needs.
* Foster a safe, supportive environment and promote resilience and emotional well-being.
3. Safeguarding:
* Follow SSSC Codes of Practice and adhere to all safeguarding policies.
* Proactively ensure the safety of individuals, addressing risks of aggression using approved techniques.
4. Team Collaboration and Reporting:
* Work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to implement and review individual care plans.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care activities and incidents in compliance with organisational standards.
Essential Skills and Requirements:
* SVQ Level 2 in Social Services and Healthcare (SCQF Level 6), or willingness to achieve this qualification within a specified timeframe.
* Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or eligibility to register.
* Knowledge of learning disabilities, Autism, and person-centred care approaches.
* Experience in managing challenging behaviours and fostering positive emotional outcomes.
* Completion of training in:
1. Protection of Adults and Children 2. Healthcare Provider CPR and Patient Manual Handling 3. Medication Administration (certified) 4. De-escalation and Management of Challenging Behaviour (BILD-accredited, 3-day in-person course) Other Requirements:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Commitment to upholding SSSC Codes of Practice.
