* The post-holders will provide support for operationalising the broad safeguarding agenda within either the East, Central and West areas of BCUHB;
* this is a key and business critical role within the team. Post-holders will have a significant role in both preventing abuse, and protecting adults at risk and children at risk from harm;
they will act on a range of indicators of abuse including wider areas such as falls and tissue viability as well as responding to questions from wider BCUHB services and providing professional advice. The role will involve more than responding to safeguarding events; it will focus on prevention and developing a full range of strategies to keep people using BCUHB safe and to inspire wider confidence in service quality. The Safeguarding Specialists roles are outward facing, and the post-holders will be working closely with BCUHB services providing safeguarding leadership, advice, support and encouragement to the full range of BCUHB staff. Post-holders will contribute their specialist areas of knowledge and experience along with contributing across the full spectrum of safeguarding services including the following broad agendas :
* Hospital Liaison
* Adult Safeguarding
* Children's' Safeguarding
* Midwifery Safeguarding, The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and / or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
