About US
Ofsted said (March 2024) :
The highly inclusive culture is one of the standout features of Dawley Brook. Pupils who have struggled elsewhere thrive here. Staff identify pupils with special education needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and provide them with the resources and support they need to succeed. For those pupils with higher needs, including those who attended the resource base, the curriculum is adapted well. As a result, these pupils are settled and are making good progress with their learning.
Our children say:
‘It’s a fun school and a happy place.’ ‘We make friends.’ ‘I like being kind and working hard.’ ‘I like learning and playing.’
We are looking for new members of our team to support children with EHCPs within classroom We would like to find a motivated and independent person who is able to work on their own initiative but would still work alongside our amazing SENDCo, SEND HLTA and our teaching team of staff.
We offer personalised Professional Development which across the team has included Coaching accreditation, National College accredited courses, Makaton as well as full support from a highly-effective middle and senior leadership team.Ambitious applicants who are looking for a school where they can grow and develop in a supportive environment are welcomed to apply.
School visits are highly recommended to give applicants an opportunity to see our spacious and well-resourced school and grounds in addition to meeting our headteacher and some of the staff team.
This post is for a L2 SEND Teaching Assistant (30 hours per week, term time only) to provide One to One Support to a new Reception Class Learner and is temporary until the end of Summer Term 2024 in the first instance but there may be the opportunity to continue as the child's school journey progresses.
We welcome applications from new or existing Teaching Assistants who have skills and knowledge of supporting learners with SEND in the classroom and are happy to commit to their development. It is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an extended SEND team within our inclusive mainstream school.
