Learning Support Worker
Axcis Education are proud to be recruiting exclusively alongside a large college in Stroud who are looking for a full-time Learning Support Worker to start ASAP and continue full-time Monday to Friday 08.30-4.00 until the end of the academic year in the first instance. This well-respected, outstanding college is looking for a support worker to support students with complex needs as well as higher physical needs, and you will be working on both a 1-1 and group basis depending on which students need help as and when.
About the Role:
As a Learning Support Worker in these specialist departments you will:
1. Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to learners across different classrooms depending on needs of learners.
2. Work within an adapted space that includes a therapy room, sensory room, and bespoke outdoor provision as well as going out in the community on trips/projects.
3. Help develop skills across the students' individual curriculum, including Independence, Communication, Social and Emotional development, Sensory and Physical, and Cognition.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone who:
1. Has experience supporting young adults with Autism, Complex needs, or other SEND.
2. Is enthusiastic about helping children develop their independence, communication, and social skills.
3. Can create a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to each child’s unique needs and interests.
4. Is adaptable, patient, and passionate about working with teenagers and young adults with SEND needs and disabilities.
5. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.
