We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and flexible qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) practitioners to join our Early Intervention Team. This role will be worked between Warrington and Halton Early Intervention Team and St Helens and Knowsley Early Intervention Team. Applicants need to be accredited with the BABCP.
We offer staff weekly Clinical supervision along with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) time to support with the expansion of skills in the service. The applicant must be subject to a regulatory body- NMC. The applicant must have experience of providing CBT for individuals experiencing psychosis or personality disorder. The successful applicant will be offering CBT to individuals on the teams At Risk Mental State Pathway, which is a primary care mental health pathway. CBTp is desirable but not essential. BFT competence would also be desirable, but not essential.
Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialised psychotherapy services within the Halton and Warrington and St Helens and Knowsley Early Intervention Team including the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on individual’s psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the post holder works.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the Early Intervention Service.
2. Assess and triage individuals for suitability for psychological interventions based upon the appropriate use and interpretation of complex data from a variety of sources.
3. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the Resilience Hub’s referral protocols.
4. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for individuals.
5. To proactively outreach and provide targeted support to individuals who would benefit from the Resilience Hub.
6. Use highly developed communication skills in working with people to understand their personal difficulties.
7. To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of individuals in line with the service.
8. Educate and involve family members in treatment as necessary.
9. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of individual contacts offered.
10. Complete all requirements relating to data collection and key performance indicators.
11. Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
12. Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place.
13. Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy process.
14. To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individuals.
15. Liaise with other health, social care, primary care and emergency services staff.
16. Provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals regarding service matters.
17. To support the development of clinical pathways within the EIT.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent Post Graduate level CBT training certificate which confers eligibility for BABCP accreditation.
* Relevant professional qualification (e.g. Nursing, social work, Allied Health Professional etc.)
Knowledge/ Experience
* Demonstrable experience of working in mental health services.
* A range of experience of delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to adults.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time.
* Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
* Good record of Continuing Professional Development.
Skills
* Full range of skills and competencies as laid out in the competence framework for CBT.
* Well developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively.
* Ability to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
* Ability to work under pressure.
