Lead Design Safety Engineer – Carbon Capture Pipeline Project
Location: Manchester (with potential alternative office location in Teesside, Wilton)
Attendance: Minimum 3 days per week in-office
This is an exciting chance to play a key role in one of the UK's first major energy transition projects, contributing to a more sustainable future. The successful candidate will support the development of a carbon capture pipeline project on Teesside, focusing on the production of a full range of technical safety deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the Lead Design Safety Engineer for the Teesside decarbonisation pipeline project.
* Produce high-quality technical documentation and provide input to design assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and design standards for all project phases.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure technical safety is integrated into project design.
* Monitor project progress, ensuring all documentation is delivered within agreed budgets and timelines.
Key Requirements:
* A minimum of 10 years' experience in Technical/Design Safety within highly regulated industries.
* Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
* Proven ability to deliver comprehensive project documentation on time and within budget.
* Strong knowledge of technical safety principles, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with teams, stakeholders, and contractors effectively.
* A proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing project deliverables and safety assessments.
