We specialise in delivering complex high-voltage (HV) infrastructure projects, ensuring innovation, safety, and efficiency. As we continue to expand, we are looking for an Operations Manager to lead and drive excellence in our Power Division.
SCOPE OF ROLE
As an Operations Manager – Power Division, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of 33kV, 66kV, and 132kV power infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for leading project teams, ensuring safety compliance, optimising financial performance, and fostering continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to drive operational success.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
1. Managing multiple power infrastructure projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery
2. Overseeing HSE compliance, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards
3. Leading and mentoring project managers and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
4. Developing and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring business alignment
5. Identifying and mitigating project risks, implementing contingency plans to avoid delays
6. Managing multi-million-pound project budgets, ensuring financial efficiency and reporting on performance
7. Negotiating contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, securing optimal commercial outcomes
8. Ensuring workforce development, implementing training and upskilling programs to enhance team capabilities
WHAT IT TAKES
1. Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager within the Power or Utilities sector
2. Strong technical knowledge of high-voltage (HV) infrastructure, including 33kV, 66kV, and 132kV networks
3. Expertise in project management, contractor oversight, and budget control
4. Qualifications in Electro-technical services, electrical installations, or a related field (e.g., City & Guilds NVQ Level 3)
5. SMSTS certification and experience with NERS qualification & authorisation processes
6. Comprehensive understanding of risk management, contract negotiations, and financial planning
7. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
