The Market Research Manager will design and deliver high-quality research projects that provide actionable insights for our university clients. This role involves collaborating with our university clients and internal teams, conducting fieldwork with prospective and current university students and a range of stakeholders across the UK and internationally, and producing clear, data-driven reports to inform student recruitment campaigns and marketing and student recruitment strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Manage market research projects from briefing to delivery, using qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
* Analyse data to uncover trends and actionable recommendations for student recruitment strategies.
* Undertake fieldwork, including focus groups, interviews, and surveys with prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students.
o Fieldwork with UK students may be conducted in person or virtually.
o International fieldwork will be conducted virtually only.
* Create detailed reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate research findings effectively.
* Work closely with clients and internal teams to meet research objectives.
* Stay up-to-date on trends in the higher education sector to inform client strategies.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive market research professional with a passion for higher education.
* Proven experience in market research, preferably within the higher education or related sector.
* Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, including survey design and data analysis.
* Proficiency in data tools such as SPSS, Excel, and data visualisation software like Tableau or Power BI.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
* Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* MRS Level 5 Advanced Certificate in Market & Social Research Practice (or equivalent).
DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Experience working on student recruitment campaigns or education-focused projects.
* Familiarity with higher education datasets (e.g., UCAS, HESA).
* MRS Level 7 Diploma in Market & Social Research Practice.
WORKING ARRANGEMENTS
* This role is either fully office-based in Brighton or hybrid (3 days per week in the office for full-time applicants).
* Part-time applicants must work a minimum of one day per week in the office.
