Job description:
This is a role being part of delivering a programme with EES Solutions on behalf of a well established prestigious automotive manufacturer who makes exciting vehicles for worldwide distribution.
This project engineering role will be initially responsible for the definition and feasibility of a number of Interior /exterior/ Functional components leading into the full development, testing and release of these components destined for a new model in a fascinating sector.
We are looking for someone who is prepared to fully own their commodities and deliver them into the programme at pace and to a high quality in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing, planning and running meetings to ensure appropriate cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas
Initially establishing feasibility for a number of features outlined in the initial project scope with your team then being responsible for the full design, delivery and release of your exterior commodities
Compiling engineering development/commodity timing plans for each component
Communicating delivery progress to the EES Project Lead on a regular basis
Ensuring that the challenging programme timing objectives are met
Identifying all risks to the programme and propose mitigation measures
Follow on project - ensure vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level
Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off at each key gateway of the project
Essential experience:
Mechanical and Interior, Exterior, Functional & accessory experience required
Experience of:
Product feasibility
Requirements definition
System(s) design
Defining functional performance
System testing
Designing for production
Designing for manufacturing assembly
Proven project engineering capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & budget.
Previous delivery of interior, exterior, functional accessory components using a number of project delivery processes such as PCDS/ PPAP / eAPQP, AIMS / WERS / iCREATE or similar
Supplier management
Desirable experience:
Parts design and release
Having previously delivered new or modified exterior systems for large OEM production
FEA Analysis
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Qualified
Working knowledge of change management processes
Working knowledge of RMDV requirements and test database
Experience of delivering accessory commodities including exterior, interior/exterior protection
Skills:
CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.
Ability to generate CAD data Catia v5/6.
Experience of JIRA toolset and AGILE methodologies
Excellent communications skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels
Experience in use of engineering tools FMEA, problem resolution etc 8D.
Experienced with Microsoft Tool – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Education:
~ Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant Mechanical Engineering/Design Engineering.
