Job Summary
Clinical governance is one of the quality domains contributing to the delivery of safe, effective and efficient services to our patients. This is an exciting position for a dynamic, inspirational, and highly experienced individual to manage the Trust's patient safety, clinical effectiveness, risk and safety learning system's strategy.
Working in collaboration with both the Head of Clinical Governance and the Head of Risk and Assurance, the post holder will be responsible for developing, updating and implementing the digital systems required to ensure the Trust's quality governance objective, to have an effective organisational learning response management system in place, is delivered.
Main Duties of the Job
The post-holder is expected to have experience of working in a senior management position in a complex healthcare organisation. The post-holder will possess a comprehensive understanding of learning response management systems, the requirements of our regulators, and the NHS national agenda. The post holder will need to be a dynamic project manager with experience of developing, preparing and presenting Board level quality assurance reports.
The role requires collaborative working with both local networks and other peer healthcare organisations to ensure continual development and evolution of the Trust's safety learning system, and as part of the wider Integrated Care System in North West London.
The role requires expert analysis and interpretation of complex data, both quantitative and qualitative, in contribution to the production of governance reports, learning system projects and improvement initiatives as required to support delivery of safety culture in the Trust.

Job Responsibilities
The post holder will be the Trust expert for the Local Risk Management System (Datix) and any other risk, safety or governance systems operated by the Trust's Quality Governance department. The role includes first line accountability for the effective implementation of new systems within the department; overseeing a schedule of routine upgrades; and the provision of support for divisional management teams to ensure staff understand and use the learning response systems effectively.
The post-holder will undertake significant data analysis using Datix and other governance system outputs to identify trends, clusters and risk/compliance issues, as well as playing a key role in establishing and maintaining systems for monitoring processes and improving data quality.
The role will include the project management of a range of key work streams that will help support the quality governance strategy within the Trust. This will include but is not limited to:
1. Incident/investigation training
2. Risk Register management training
3. Data quality assurance, including data accuracy, timeliness and security
4. Maintenance of external datasets (including LFPSE)
5. Enabling routine and one-off system upgrades
6. Engaging with external partner organisations to benchmark and define best practice
7. Management of module support for patient experience, claims and audit
8. Development of the mortality surveillance system and learning outputs
9. Partnership working with external system providers and delivery of contractual requirements
Person Specification
Essential:
* Educated to degree level in statistical analysis or equivalent professional/specialist knowledge in risk, health, IT systems management
* Datix Certified Professional
* Project management qualification (PRINCE II) or substantial project management experience
* Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint/Excel/Teams) to support the analysis of data, present information and develop training programmes
* Collating/Evaluating evidence against predefined standards and maintaining effective monitoring systems to assess compliance
Desirable:
* Management/Leadership qualification
* Auditing customer/user feedback to develop and implement service improvements
* Demonstrable understanding of NHS regulatory and compliance frameworks
* Patient Safety Specialist training
* Delivering training/presentations to support risk & quality governance functions
