We are currently recruiting for Manufacturing Engineers to support one of our customers with a project that includes involvement from concept through to the production and requires a clear understanding of structure, manufacturing, tooling, assembly process and system interaction. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. The contract is deemed outside of IR35 for Sub-contract labour but Staff positions are available for the right candidates. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.
The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Programme Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them to be based at the Client's site.
Working within the ME team in our Aero Business Unit, successful candidates will join our experienced team, with whom you will work on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how.
Knowledge and understanding of Manufacturing Work Instructions
Produce Engineering outputs to meet on-target delivery dates and Quality requirements
Identify and manage key dimensional variation across the manufacturing products
Analyse pertinent historical manufacturing capability data
Ensure 'Right First Time' outputs are met in-line with Business KPI's
Be involved with continuous improvement process & offer improvement suggestions
Interface with external stakeholders to understand technical issues / specifications
Liaise with and support design and manufacturing supply chain
Attend reviews (both internal and external) where required
Work in accordance with the Expleo QMS and customer quality requirements
Support the creation of Quality plans to control the identified key parts and features
Work with Manufacturing Engineering Planning to establish hold points in the detail process plans
Work closely with Operations to manage key product features throughout the build processQualifications
Engineering degree, or equivalent, with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience
Candidates without accredited qualifications will be considered depending upon experienceEssential skills
Strong understanding of Manufacturing Products & Processes
Understanding of dimensional measurement systems and principles
Industrialisation experience (factory layouts, tooling deployment etc)
Ability to interpret drawings and/or CAD models
Strong stakeholder engagement skills
Proactive 'Team Player' with a focus on delivery and quality who can work and act autonomously
Excellent communication skills
Have good written and verbal communication skills and be capable of making sound technical judgements and appropriate decisions
Assertiveness, independent, structured way of working and the ability to find oneself in a multicultural working environmentExperience
Experience of Manufacturing Processes and standards
Several years of professional experience in a manufacturing engineering environment
Aerospace & Defence experience preferable but Marine & Automotive will be considered
Proactive Team Player with a focus on delivery and quality
