An exciting opportunity (part time- 22.5 hours) has arisen for a Receptionist to join our small, friendly front-of-house team based at Huntington House, which is a community mental health unit.
The post is to cover Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9am to 5pm, with the opportunity for further hours to cover holidays.
Huntington House is situated near Monks Cross Retail Park on the outskirts of York, and benefits from free on-site parking as well as being on the major bus routes.
You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a friendly, customer-focused Receptionist to join a small front-of-house team. Reception duties include greeting service users, carers, staff and visitors and answering queries via telephone and email. The ability to remain calm and communicate clearly is essential as well as promoting a positive culture for adults living with mental health issues and/or learning disabilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to perform basic admin tasks, update clinic lists, maintain visitor logs, issue access cards, deal with incoming & outgoing post, photocopying and ensure that all information in the reception area for staff and public is clearly displayed and updated as appropriate.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BTEC Diploma/Level 2 qualification in relevant field OR equivalent experience, OR willingness to work towards Level 3 qualification in Business and Administration.
* Key skills/functional skills in literacy and numeracy Level 2 OR O Level (Grade C and above/New GCSE in Maths and English (Grade 4 to 9) are an essential requirement to be fully competent in the role.
Experience
* Data inputting experience.
* Experience of general office duties.
Knowledge
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
* Understanding of confidentiality and the associated legal and policy requirements.
* Knowledge of office systems and processes.
* Knowledge of receiving visitors/telephone callers and taking accurate messages.
