Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections and tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards in line with VOSA / DVSA guidelines. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
1. Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and carry out mechanical tasks including tyre fitting, exhausts, brakes, suspension, general servicing, and repairs.
2. Identify and diagnose mechanical faults and issues during inspections.
3. Ensure all testing equipment is maintained and calibrated correctly.
4. Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
5. Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
6. Collaborate with other team members to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Skills
1. Strong mechanical knowledge, with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems.
2. Experience with heavy lifting, ensuring safe handling of equipment and vehicles.
3. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools effectively for repairs and adjustments.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail to identify potential issues during inspections.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy workshop environment.
6. The ideal candidate must have a current Full UK driving licence and a current MOT Testing licence.
