Town Planner

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement long-term planning strategies for urban development, land use, and infrastructure.
* Prepare and review planning applications, zoning proposals, and development plans.
* Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
* Collaborate with local authorities, developers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning regulations and policies.
* Provide expert advice and recommendations on land use, zoning laws, transportation systems, and community services.
* Engage with the public and community groups to gather input on proposed projects and developments.
* Monitor and analyse trends in urban development, housing needs, and environmental impacts.
* Draft reports, presentations, and planning documents for submission to local councils and government bodies.
* Stay updated on current legislation, best practices, and technological advancements in town planning.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related field.
* Proven experience in town planning, urban development, or a related role.
* In-depth knowledge of planning policies, zoning laws, and environmental regulations.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Proficiency in GIS software and planning tools.
* A commitment to sustainability and environmentally-conscious development.
