Role
A PVG check will be undertaken as part of the selection process. Under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, only women need to apply.
This is a key role in Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis, where your expertise as a supervisory practitioner gained from the provision of therapeutic support services will be utilised to directly assist the Service Management Team with their duties and responsibilities for our Emotional and Therapeutic Support and Triage Service (ETST).
Working under the supervision of a Service Manager, you will provide a first point of contact to ETST workers across our delivery areas, offering direct leadership, advice, support, caseload management, and guidance. This will include undertaking responsibilities in the areas of safeguarding, continuous improvement, and fulfilment and enhancement of practitioner standards in line with professional standards and service objectives.
It is expected that the Team Leader will have a strong commitment to anti-discriminatory work and feminist principles and will be responsible to the overall Director for maintaining the values, principles, objectives, positions and policies of Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis.
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* To provide effective daily leadership to workers in ETST, ensuring high standards of trauma-informed practice and service are delivered and always evidenced to survivors.
* Actively review and manage workers' caseloads, ensuring delivery expectations are fulfilled and monitored to achieve service performance outcomes within Head Office facilities and outreach hubs across GCRC’s six local authority delivery areas.
* Monitor and assess the service's waiting lists, ensuring that initial triage assessments and the subsequent allocation to workers are timely and in line with service performance objectives.
* To ensure that safeguarding expectations are followed by all workers in accordance with GCRC policy relating to child and adult protection.
* Monitor workers' practices and compliance with GDPR, communications tone of voice, and organisational policies and protocols.
* To deliver monthly observational supervision of practice sessions between workers and survivors to assess practice standards and areas of improvement.
* To recommend to the Service Manager a schedule and focus for service-specific practice development sessions for workers, setting clear expectations of such sessions and how these developments positively impact practice.
* To support the robust information gathering for reports for funders, Directors, and the GCRC Board, as determined by the Service Manager.
* To ensure that Head Office Survivor Support Suites are covered following working protocols and that survivors are welcomed safely and by experienced staff.
* Participate in regular support and supervision sessions with the Service Manager.
* Always uphold and positively represent GCRC's vision, mission and values.
* Attend internal meetings as appropriate to the post and represent the organisation in external meetings where applicable.
* Participate in an ongoing programme of training and continuing personal development to ensure that skills, knowledge, and working practices are up to date.
* To participate in internal and external training as required.
* Any other duties that are relevant to the post of and agreed with the line manager or Director/s.

This is a key role in Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre’s Core service that provides specific support services to girls and women. The role requires a strong commitment to anti-discriminatory and equality work and must demonstrate experience working directly with girls and women. The post holder will be comfortable and confident in representing the service externally across agencies. Experience and understanding of working within an organisation within a feminist, equality, and human rights framework is preferable for this role. Joining an already established team, this role will work for the Service Manager for the Project whilst also being accountable for maintaining and applying the values, principles and competencies for the role to the Director of the Centre. This role is possible due to funding received from Delivering Equally Safe.

Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC); established in 2004, is an independent charity with the objective of relieving the distress and improving the welfare of women and girls who, at any time in their lives, have been subjected to any form of sexual violence. LRCC works collaboratively with 17 Rape Crisis Centres across Scotland who also adhere to National Service Standards.
Today we deliver on the following:
* Provide trauma informed therapeutic support to women and girls who have experienced rape and all forms of sexual violence (aged 12+) as well as their friends, family, partners and workers. We also provide crisis support options for male survivors and survivors of all gender identities.
* Provide advocacy support to those considering or engaging with the criminal justice process; there are 4 justice advocacy practitioner positions currently operating in Lanarkshire. The team manager provides induction, training and ongoing support to this post.
* Work in partnership with communities, partner agencies and other key stakeholders to improve understanding of gender-based violence, provide trauma informed responses to survivors of sexual violence and develop community level prevention initiatives.
* Delivers prevention work with young people as part of the Rape Crisis Scotland National Prevention Programme. rapecrisisscotland.org.uk/prevention and specific prevention project work funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
Background Information: National Advocacy Service
The National Advocacy Service is funded by the Scottish Government, with the fund being administered by Rape Crisis Scotland and delivered by local rape crisis centres. The service aims to provide support and advocacy to survivors who have engaged or are considering engaging with the criminal justice system following a sexual crime. The broad objectives are:
* An improvement in the support available to survivors of rape and serious sexual crime.
* An improvement in the experience of the criminal justice process for survivors of rape and serious sexual crime.
* The development of a better understanding of motivations whether or not to proceed within the criminal justice process, and what difference advocacy support makes to this decision.
The Centre is based in central Hamilton; however, justice advocacy practitioners spend parts of their working time in locations such as court buildings and police stations. This post is funded by the Scottish Government and is classed as maternity cover for a period of 10 months.
Purpose of the post:
The overall aim of this post is to provide support and justice advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence.

Our Programme Worker will work directly with young women and girls to create safe spaces and equip them with skills and confidence to lead change on issues that matter to them, supporting them to amplify their voices in their communities and in decision-making spaces.
This role will support the planning and delivery of a wide range of programmes using a youth work approach, both in-person in schools, communities and further education settings and online and will work hard to extend our reach to even more young women and girls.
