Must have skills:
1. Minimum 12 years of experience with 10+ years supporting a large enterprise environment required (multi-building campus, MAN/WAN, >5000 users).
2. Proficient in Nexus technologies like ACI, VDC, VPC, FEX, Fabric, Path, OTV, and Cisco ISE.
3. Proficient knowledge and understanding of Network and Security Products.
4. Proficient in Routing protocols like BGP and OSPF.
5. CCNP certification or equivalent level of skills.
6. Strong investigative and analytical qualities.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Experience in designing enterprise network.
Good to have:
* Candidates with VMware SDN/NSX skills are preferred.
* Experience with Wireless technologies, WAN optimizers, and load balancers.
Responsibilities:
The engineer will be based out of India and will be responsible for supporting the network environment including all the network, wireless, and security products. Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring uptime of the environment and overseeing all day-to-day activities while guiding the L2 team for operational work.
2. Collaborating with the lead and service delivery managers to participate in reporting and delivery meetings.
3. Translating business requirements into network infrastructure solutions.
4. Analyzing complex cross-functional and cross-platform issues.
5. Developing and documenting procedures and best practices for network operations infrastructure.
6. Providing day-to-day operational support of the network, including responding to user and system-initiated tickets and resolving network incidents.
7. Acting as the first point of escalation for challenging issues not resolved by junior network operations engineers.
8. Establishing and executing the life cycle process for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades.
9. Maintaining network management systems and tools (Solarwinds, OPsmanager, etc.).
10. Defining best practices for network management systems, including recommendations for key performance indicators and alert thresholds.
11. Reviewing and responding to monitoring alerts, logs, and alarms.
12. Analyzing and maintaining performance data, making recommendations and changes to ensure optimal network utilization.
13. Designing, installing, and configuring enterprise network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
14. Designing, installing, and configuring enterprise security devices, including firewalls and remote access concentrators.
15. Working directly with customers to resolve incidents.
16. Participating in team after-hours and on-call rotation as required.
17. Performing other duties as assigned.
