Who You Are
We are seeking a motivated individual with experience in working with people who have complex needs. Ideally, you are an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist or a professional with adequate moving and handling skills and training. You demonstrate knowledge of up-to-date moving and handling techniques, equipment, and a deep understanding of complex physical disabilities. Experience in providing equipment, major adaptations, and possessing good IT skills will be advantageous. You are capable of working on your own initiative, managing a busy workload, and building strong working relationships. Your excellent communication skills enable you to establish credibility with professionals from partner agencies. Additionally, you have the ability to assess needs, prepare care plans, and implement them, with a sound understanding of current legislation.
What the job involves
This position involves supporting the "moving with dignity" project aimed at reducing double-handed care packages to single-handed care. You will conduct moving and handling assessments, create detailed risk assessment reports, and offer training to both formal and informal carers. You will collaborate with the existing moving and handling team for a two-year fixed term to support the single-handed care project. Your role will be critical in ensuring the continuation of this successful project, requiring you to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with partner agencies.
