We are looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a main contractor within the Water Industry.
MAIN TASKS
1. Lead the site team and sub-contractors to maintain the highest possible standard of safety performance at all times and ensure safety is the number one priority of all members of the team.
2. Assemble and structure a competent team and monitor development and performance of individual team members.
3. Implement management and monitoring procedures to cover all aspects of design, procurement, manufacture and installation of components on and off site.
4. Chair and minute internal and external meetings including but not limited to - site progress, safety, team, design and sub-contract meetings.
5. Support commercial team with selection and procurement of sub-contract packages.
6. Identify and manage third party involvement.
7. Produce all necessary reports for internal and external functions.
8. Motivate and support the site team and sub-contractors to deliver all targets and objectives.
9. Liaise with client and design team to ensure all parties' interests are being fulfilled.
10. Work with Framework Manager and other team members to develop and secure new work streams.
11. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
12. Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times.
13. Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
14. Resolve and close out all complex issues quickly and effectively.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
1. Possess relevant CSCS card.
2. SMSTS qualification.
3. Relevant industry or vocational qualification preferred, e.g., NVQ 4 Site Supervision or ONC, HNC.
4. Technical knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical Water & Wastewater operations.
5. Industry experience in a similar role.
6. First Aid at work.
7. Appropriate IT skills including the use of company software packages.
8. Communicates with colleagues and clients in a warm and persuasive way both formally and informally. Alters style and method to suit audience.
9. Candidates will ideally have experience of working in the Water Industry but candidates with experience in other sectors will be considered.
