This is a rare opportunity to help deliver archaeological finds recording to the people of Suffolk, assisting the Suffolk Finds Recording Officers, who are part of the national Portable Antiquities Scheme, record archaeological objects found by members of the public.

Your role and responsibilities
- part of the team working to record archaeological objects found by members of the public, especially metal detector users
- assisting the Suffolk Finds Recording Officers
- identifying and recording objects onto the national Portable Antiquities Scheme database, including objects which fall under the 1996 Treasure Act
- assist with outreach and fostering links with metal detector users and the public
- work closely with the Archaeology Archives and Projects Manager and two Finds Recording Officers and be part of a diverse curatorial team responsible for the protection and promotion of one of England’s richest areas of historic environment.
You will need:
- degree in a heritage or related subject or equivalent relevant experience
- some prior experience of object identification or working with archaeological finds
- to be a team player and be able to deal confidently with a range of stakeholders and the public
- excellent organisational skills.
