Job Title: Controls Engineer
Salary: £52,665 (inclusive of 25% shift allowance)
What you’ll be doing:
* Operation & management of a high-volume processing facility
* Monitoring and diagnosis of plant and equipment ensuring the process runs safely, efficiently and in compliance with company policy & regulatory standards
* Observing and operating control panels including Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, CCTV and other monitoring systems
* Tracking real-time data, alarms and trends to detect anomalies or deviation from routine operations
* Conducting initial diagnosis of fault conditions, and escalating to relevant support functions, resetting out of sequence faults, re-homing of robots & Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV’)
* Coordinating and overseeing the integration of support personnel and facilities, coordinating maintenance, systems and production support to operation of the facility
* Maintaining detailed logs of system activities, maintenance actions and incidents, managing Permit to Work (PTW) in area of responsibility & coordinating management of change
* Executing emergency shutdown procedures if required, and assisting in coordinating emergency response protocol
Your skills and experiences:
* Science / Engineering degree, HNC / HND or equivalent; or time served apprenticeship in the process industry
* Awareness and exposure to PLC and HMI Systems
* Ability to work on a 3-shift pattern (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am)
* Experience in operations & monitoring systems in a control room environment
* Proficiency and understanding of PLC systems, SCADA or Siemens TIA portal
* Understanding of robotics/automation within multiple operational environments
* Sound understanding of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plans, (PCP), and work instructions
