Join Barclays as a Senior R&D Software and Data Engineer
In this role, you will spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will be an integral part of our Cyber Fraud Fusion Centre, delivering scalable CFFC services to disrupt and prevent upstream economic crime. To be successful as a Senior R&D Software and Data Engineer, you will need the following:
1. Experience working within Financial Service teams responsible for cyber fraud, financial crime, or security (webapp).
2. Experience with industry fraud and security signals, including digital identity, device, voice, biometrics, and behavioural profiling technologies.
3. Knowledge of malicious attack vectors used by cyber fraud adversaries to target the financial sector including, but not limited to:
o Device Spoofing
o Location Manipulation
o Identity Fraud
o Account Takeover
o False documentation
4. Development experience and/or experience using analytical tools: Python, PHP, JavaScript, Java, Relational databases (Postgres, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc.), SAS PROC SQL, Hue Database Assistant, Teradata, and non-rational Hadoop.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
1. Advanced knowledge of malicious attack vectors used by cyber fraud adversaries.
2. Knowledge of Enterprise security frameworks such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework and Cyber-attack phases.
3. Previous advanced experience using analytical tools and platforms such as SQL, SAS, Hue, Hive Basic, Quantexa, Elastic Search, SAS and MI tools like Tableau and Power BI.
4. Technical experience or advanced knowledge of computing, computer science, and networks.

The successful candidate can either be based in Knutsford or Northampton.
Purpose of the role
To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Accountabilities
1. Build and maintain data architectures and pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete, and consistent data.
2. Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to required security measures.
3. Develop processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
4. Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
