We are seeking to appoint a school-based Occupational Therapist, to work as part of our multi-disciplinary Therapy Team across the Rivermead Inclusive Trust and Rivermead Solutions.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of our Trust Inclusion Improvement Lead, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Art Therapist, Councillors, and Therapy Assistants.
Our special schools and mainstream schools have a high proportion of learners who require occupational therapy assessments and interventions, and we would like to appoint an additional Occupational Therapist who will be able to meet this demand.
Responsibilities:
* Work directly with young people, assessing needs and providing intervention.
* Provide specialist training to other staff to develop whole school approaches to meet the physical needs in the classroom and throughout the school day.
* Provide advice and guidance to parents, where appropriate training them to support their children at home.
* Oversee the work of support staff working with the post-holder.
You should be enthusiastic and motivated and able to manage your own workload. You must be flexible, approachable, and able to communicate with a range of professionals, parents, and the young people themselves. You should have some experience of working with children and young people with Autism and/or other Special Educational Needs.
Please note that the post-holder must be able to travel between trust schools, so access to a car and being a confident driver will be essential.
