Histopathology provides a reporting service to the Trust, the community, and local private hospitals. In addition, there is the opportunity to boost income from private work, which is shared equally between the consultant team, and an opportunity to participate in the Post Mortem Service provided to the local coroner (although this is not mandatory). The new appointee will automatically be a member of the Medical Staff Committee.
The post-holder will:
1. Participate in the departmental rota for routine surgical pathology reporting and dissection.
2. Attend MDTs according to rostering and clinical need.
3. Participate in the MDT cancer care structure and assume leadership for cell pathology in at least one MDT according to the interests of the postholder and the needs of the department in consultation with existing consultant colleagues.
4. Refer specialist cases to appropriate referral centres for reporting.

If you are passionate about patient care and want to develop your skills and knowledge, then we want to hear from you.
Applicants will have completed CCT or equivalent (Portfolio Pathway) and must be on the Specialist Register. We pride ourselves on supporting our staff. We offer a wide range of training and development opportunities, as well as flexible working options.
We are one of the largest NHS organisations in England. Our scale provides exciting opportunities for development, innovation, research, education, and training.
Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is at the heart of all we do; and it forms part of ESNEFT's core activities. The Trust operates and relies on everyone treating each other with dignity and respect, to receive equitable and fair treatment in the implementation of Policies, Procedures, and Practices, to foster positive work relationships, and finally to act with integrity as a professional within ESNEFT as well as a representative of the NHS as a whole.
We are ESNEFT, and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex. Our dedicated staff deliver care from acute hospitals in Colchester and Ipswich, community hospitals, surgeries, community clinics, and in patients' own homes.
Our Enhanced Welcome package includes an additional £20,000 and relocation costs to thank you for choosing to work at our trust and your new journey with ESNEFT. (Welcome Bonus subject to Tax)
