We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to support one of our customers with a project that includes involvement in projects from concept through to the production of the product and requires a clear understanding of structure, manufacturing, tooling, assembly process and system interaction. The ideal candidate should possess a strong attention to detail, experience in technical documentation, and familiarity with electrical manufacturing processes. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, seniority, etc. with the contract deemed to be Inside of IR35 for Sub-contract labour but a Staff position is available for the right candidate. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our client and will be expected to be proactive and self-motivated in delivering the targeted outputs to support the product.
The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to the Product Delivery Leader (PDL) and their role will involve them to be based at the Client's site.
Working within the ME team in our Marine Business Unit, successful candidates will join our experienced team, with whom you will work on varied projects in high-tech and future-oriented industries taking on exciting and responsible tasks according to your skills and knowledge, thus expanding your existing know-how.
Responsibilities
* Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
* Part number creation and release.
* As-built documentation.
* Creation of Manufacturing instructions.
* Decomposing vessel specifications into function descriptions.
* Work closely with the engineering design team/system owners to manage and drive the manufacture for design.
* Self-starter and self-motivator to drive themselves and others.
* Own advanced manufacturing engineering requirements during product development phase to include MBOM creation, process planning, equipment requirements, PFMEAs, virtual builds, labour estimation and planning of build manuals/documentation.
* Work with the engineering and operations team to troubleshoot any process or equipment issues through the new product introduction and into the series manufacture phase.
* Work in accordance with the Expleo QMS and customer quality requirements.
Qualifications
* Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with proven practical Engineering & manufacturing knowledge and experience.
* Candidates without accredited qualifications will be considered depending upon experience.
Essential skills
* Familiar with production workflows, documentation, and quality assurance.
* Strong technical skills in mechanical or electrical and manufacturing engineering.
* A clear appreciation and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes including those for composite and metallic components.
* An ability to find novel solutions to complex technical problems and to work with a broad team to deliver them.
* Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project or Primavera (or other equivalent planning tools).
* Strong presenting and influencing skills.
* Good report writing skills – clear, concise and well structured.
* Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage and motivate others.
* An appreciation of, and an ability to, positively resolve issues arising from different cultures.
* Ability to relate well to others, and build co-operative and collaborative working relationships, both internally and externally.
* Dedication to completing tasks in high quality and timely manner with an ability to predict complex project time-lines.
* Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
Experience
* Design for manufacture and assembly experience, with a proven ability to engage and work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver improved manufacturability.
* Experience of advanced manufacturing engineering tools and their deployment, preferably in a high-technology engineering NPI environment.
* Taking products through the NPI phase and into series production.
* Troubleshooting and resolving complex manufacturing and assembly issues (process and/or design related).
* Industrialisation experience during a high growth period.
* Working in a low volume high complexity manufacturing environment.
* Working with design and development engineers in the early stages of a project.
* Composites manufacturing and assembly.
