Hours & Salary - Full time, 35 hours per week, typically Monday Friday, 7:30am 3pm. Precise days and times will be discussed at interview.

Overall Job Purpose:
We are looking for a chef to combine their passion for cooking with a tailored, bespoke, catering service for elite level professional athletes on a daily basis. The role will be to plan, prepare, produce and serve high quality nutrition to our professional playing squads predominately at our training centre in St Andrews.
Role Responsibilities & Key Duties
Menu design: Partnering with the nutritionist, Head of Sport Science, Head of Football Operations & Head of Player care to design and develop nutritious, performance focused menus and dishes tailored to player needs and relevant playing schedules.
Quality control: Consistently prepare food in accordance with detailed specification sheets, maintain consistency and quality in every dish, ensuring production and presentation align with the club standards. Work with the operational team to ensure the front-of-house service operates efficiently.
Hygiene: Uphold exemplary hygiene standards by way of professional presentation and uniform. Maintain a pristine working environment throughout all stages of food production, delivery and service.
Stock Control: Manage stock levels of perishable and non-perishable produce to avoid waste and over ordering.
Planning & Budget management: Work with the Operational team to ensure orders for produce are within the weekly budget set by the club. Utilise administration time to plan and place orders, as well as approving invoices etc.
Autonomy: Operate effectively and independently with minimal supervision, showcasing initiative and accountability. Liaising with the operational team to ensure daily catering service is prepared in line with relevant training schedules.
Compliance: Complete daily operational paperwork accurately ensuring full compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards.
Qualifications
Essential
Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate
Full Drivers licence with access to own vehicle
PVG check to be completed before appointment and maintained every 3 years.
Desirable
Level 3 Health and Safety certificate
Experience, Training and Personal Qualities
Chef: 5 years (preferred)
Cooking: 5 years (preferred)
We are looking for an energetic ambitious, diligent and punctual individual to join our team to prepare, produce and serve high quality nutrition to our Professional Squads, based at the Dundee United FC Training Centre in St Andrews.
Working with the performance and operational staff and in line with all legislative and company food hygiene and health and safety policies, the successful candidate will be expected to display an ability to collate orders for produce on a twice-weekly basis, assist with designing rotational menus and work within a weekly budget.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of professional sports catering and is able to adapt in understanding the fast paced, unpredictable nature of a professional sports team.
The successful candidate for this role will be required to work in-line with the Mens First Team training schedule predominantly based at the Clubs Training Centre in St Andrews, with occasional work at other venues such as the Clubs Stadium, The CalForth Construction Arena at Tannadice Park. Holidays are usually requested to be taken in line with the football season, e.g. international breaks/close season.
