Expected hours: No less than 21 per week
Work Location: In person, hybrid to be considered.
This role will ideally be based in our North Berwick office.
A hybrid working arrangement may be considered along with East Lothian or Edinburgh Office.
Garden Stirling Burnet is a well-established name in the Scottish legal market with the largest office network in East Lothian. We have a busy residential property practice. Our focus is on service delivery at a fair cost. We specialise in estate agency, residential and commercial conveyancing and private client, GSB have recently become part of the Friends Legal network and we have ambitious plans to grow the business both in East Lothian and further afield.
To assist our growth plans, and in response to strong demand, we require a Purchase Negotiator to work in our New Business Team. This role will ideally be based in our North Berwick office. A hybrid working arrangement may be considered along with East Lothian or Edinburgh Office. The core requirement is 3 days Wednesday-Friday but open to full time. Previous property or residential legal experience is preferred but not essential.
You will work closely with the Garden Stirling Burnet team to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Responsibilities:
1. Deal efficiently with incoming enquiries. These may be face to face, but mainly telephonic, email, or through other partners.
2. Providing excellent advice to clients on property purchases delivering first class client care.
3. Negotiate Property Purchases for clients to achieve best outcomes.
4. Ability to work in an agile manner with strong attention to detail.
5. Proficient computer skills including Teams, MS Office legal case.
6. Communicating effectively and efficiently with the legal team.
7. Maintain accurate records of all property transactions, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting.
8. Marketing experience could also be an advantage.
9. The above list is not exhaustive and additional duties will be allocated as appropriate.
Skills and Experience:
1. You will have good communication skills and work well within a dynamic team.
2. You will have strong organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise work and meet target deadlines in a timely manner. Attention to detail is key.
3. Previous experience and knowledge within Residential legal practice is desirable.
4. Strong IT skills and good knowledge of the East Lothian and Edinburgh market desirable.
