Permanent Vacancy, Up To 37.5 Hours Per Week
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at St Luke's Hospice Plymouth and ensure the smooth running of our facilities.
Role Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive maintenance service to the main Hospice building and leased/owned buildings which form part of the estate. The Technician will work in partnership with the Facilities Team to ensure such buildings remains safe, functional, and welcoming for our patients, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for carrying out repairs, general maintenance tasks, and supporting the upkeep of our buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform general maintenance and repair tasks across the hospice, including plumbing, electrical, and heating work.
* Carry out regular inspections of the facilities (including fire alarms, lighting systems, portable appliances, and water services) to identify and address any issues promptly.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, keeping accurate records of maintenance activities.
* Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
* Carry out safety and basic maintenance checks on St Luke's vehicles.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Relevant recognised Level 3 Maintenance Training Scheme or appropriate City & Guilds Certificate/NVQ in Electrical Maintenance and Installations.
* Demonstrable experience in a healthcare maintenance environment or equivalent.
* Understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering and basic building principles.
* Basic IT skills.
* Excellent communication skills with a friendly, approachable, professional manner.
* A proactive attitude and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
