About the role
We are now recruiting for a Financial Controller to join the CitNOW Group Finance Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is based at our offices in Wokingham, however we appreciate the importance of a positive work life balance and offer a hybrid home and office working model.
The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in the Finance Team with responsibility for ensuring robust financial control across the organisation. Key areas of focus include monthly management reporting, tax compliance and liaison with external advisors to deliver statutory reporting.
An integral focus of this role is driving the continuous improvement of systems and procedures to support the organisation's growth. The Financial Controller will take a leading role in delivering the audit and implementing operational enhancements across the wider Finance team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual with the ability to drive change and contribute significantly to achieving best-in-class financial control.
Key responsibilities include:
* Responsible for creating and maintaining a strong financial control environment by ensuring robust policies, procedures and processes are in place to enable the delivery of accurate and timely internal and external reporting
* Review and completion of monthly management reporting packs for all entities, including P&L review and balance sheet reconciliations
* PE reporting
* Group VAT matters
* Group Payroll reviews and PAYE reporting
* Acquisition accounting and ongoing fair value accounting
* Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and Corporation Tax computation and returns
* Companies house filings
* Play a leading role in the effective delivery of the group audit, ensuring effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
* Drive ongoing positive finance transformation projects in respect of systems and process improvement as the business continues to grow and invest
* Work with Advisors to ensure tax compliance across the group
* Consideration of Transfer Pricing – will need to implement a new recharging process
* Lead train and develop a highly motivated and efficient team. Setting objectives with regular reviews, coaching and support as required
* Ad hoc financial support as business demands develop
We are looking for:
* An experienced, ACA/ACCA qualified Financial Controller
* A strong technical accountant, with experience of large scale audits
* An experienced people leader, with a proven ability to coach and develop a high performing team
* Skilled in organising tasks and establishing priorities to meet deadlines
* Strong work ethic, a self-starter with a proactive approach
