This role will be based in the fracture clinic at Queens Hospital Burton, but will also be required to cover the treatment centre for elective clinics. We provide services to both paediatric and adult patients. We work as a multidisciplinary team of medical staff, nurses, Orthopaedic practitioners, radiology staff, physiotherapists, hand therapists trauma nurses, wards, ED and administration staff to ensure that high quality care for all the patients is delivered, within the fracture clinic we care for patients of all ages. We also deliver a virtual fracture clinic service.
Alongside the fracture clinic we provide care for patients attending elective clinics, this includes working with spinal consultants and specialist knee surgeons. We also provide a casting service to all in-patients and patients in our outreach hospitals. Our clinic is open 5 days per week excluding weekends and bank holidays. However if a clinic is required at a Bank Holiday or out or hours this would need to be covered. We are currently seeking t recruit a band 6 sister/charge nurse to join our multidisciplinary team, who is able to demonstrate knowledge and enthusiasm for the role, contributing to the leadership and management of the department, working closely with the current band 7. This role is for a person how respects others, and strives to encourage other staff with ideas, has the ability to work effectively within the environment processing several clinics with a variety of activities, A key part of tis role will be to contribute to the development of our orthopaedic nursing care services and therefore previous knowledge and genuine interest in orthopaedic care is essential to this role. Also within this role there is a need to actively contribute to the Virtual Fracture Clinic, therefore giving Orthopaedic advice is essential.
