NRS Estates are seeking a skilled and motivated Joiner to join our in-house maintenance team. The team is responsible for the upkeep of various site buildings across the Dounreay estate and provides support to a range of projects. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and have a strong work ethic. They should also be able to work effectively within a team and have the willingness to work overtime when required to meet the diverse demands of the workload. Good communication skills are essential, along with a commitment to maintaining high safety standards. Technical competence and familiarity with safety procedures, including Risk Assessments, will be advantageous. Key Responsibilities: As a Joiner, your tasks will include, but are not limited to: Roof works – Repairs, installations, and general maintenance. Cladding works – Maintenance, replacement, and installation of external cladding. Internal refurbishments – Including partitions, fixtures, and fittings. Basic shuttering – Forming concrete structures as required. Suspended ceilings – Installation and maintenance. Window replacements – Fitting new windows and maintaining existing ones. Formwork, machinery, and bench-work joinery – As required for specific projects. General building fabric maintenance – Ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the site’s building infrastructure. Control and completion of work orders – Ensuring all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time. Non-trade tasks – Assist with other duties as directed by the supervisor, outside of joinery as necessary. Management Appointments – Perform any relevant responsibilities associated with management roles linked to this post. Skills & Qualifications: Joinery experience – Proven background in joinery and carpentry work. Safety Awareness – Knowledge of Risk Assessments and safety documentation is desirable. Communication Skills – Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors. Technical Ability – Competence in various joinery tasks with attention to detail and quality. Flexibility – Willingness to work overtime and adapt to a varied workload. Teamwork – Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Preferred Experience: Experience in roofing, cladding, and building refurbishments. Familiarity with operating machinery and bench joinery tools. Knowledge of building maintenance and fabric repairs. Understanding of safety protocols in a construction environment
