Band 8b Principal Psychologist – Secondary MHTR – 2 Year Fixed Term

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is seeking a highly motivated Principal Psychologist to join our Secondary Care Mental Health Treatment Requirement (SC-MHTR) Team in Stafford.
You will:
* Supervise and support the assessment, formulation and treatment interventions provided by professional colleagues.
* Work closely with community mental health, probation services, and NHS England commissioners.
* Implement policies and propose service developments to expand the service.
* Contribute to teaching, research, and the development of national guidelines to roll the service nationwide.
MAIN DUTIES:
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for Band 8b Principal Psychologist for the Secondary MHTR Pilot for Stafford. This is a new, unique role for a highly skilled and motivated individual.
Key tasks include:
* Accepting clinical responsibility for service users and leading the MDT delivery of the interventions.
* Delivery of psychological interventions, if/when needed.
* Liaison with partner agencies.
* Deliver training and clinical consultation.
* Service development and evaluation.

In summary:
To complete SC-MHTR assessment reports, decide whether a recommendation for SC-MHTR is appropriate (in consultation with Clinical Lead for Secondary Care MHTR pilot if needed), agree a decision to treat or decline and give reasons in writing.
To make decisions about treatment options considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individual. Deliver psychological interventions, if appropriate.
To formulate and lead the MDT in implementing plans for the formal treatments and/or management of a service user’s mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the service user’s problems, and employing methods of proven efficacy in community settings.
To communicate with partner agencies about the client’s treatment and keep up to date clinical records.
To initiate project developments, including complex audit and service evaluations. #J-18808-Ljbffr
