Join our team at Keolis Amey Metrolink (KAM), the largest light rail network in the UK We are currently recruiting for Commercial Lawyer to join our Finance and Commercial team within Manchester’s iconic Metrolink. As a Commercial Lawyer, you will provide critical legal support across our commercial and procurement operations, ensuring robust contract management and legal compliance. You will work closely with the Legal Counsel, senior management, and cross functional teams to negotiate, draft, and review contracts while managing legal risks. This role is ideal for someone looking to expand their expertise in commercial law and contribute to the success of the Manchester Metrolink network. Key accountabilities will include: Developing, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts and supplier agreements. Provide expert and reliable legal support to the procurement team and key internal stakeholders across KAM. Take responsibility for ensuring legal and regulatory standards are met across all business relationships. Identify and mitigate legal risks in contracts and procurement activities. Manage claims and disputes, advising stakeholders and resolving legal issues effectively. Ensure that all commercial and procurement contracts meet relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Contribute to improving contract management and legal processes, ensuring efficiency and risk mitigation. What you’ll bring: Legal Qualifications: Qualified solicitor with at least 1 year PQE in commercial law. Strong knowledge of contract drafting, negotiation, and risk management, particularly in commercial and procurement settings. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, offering clear, commercially focused legal advice. Excellent analytical skills to assess and manage legal risks while supporting business objectives. An initiative-taking, self-motivated approach, adapting to changing business needs and managing multiple priorities. Desirable experience: Experience in sectors such as rail, transport, infrastructure, or public procurement is advantageous.
