We are now looking to hire a Facilities Engineer (with an Electrical bias skillset) to lead planned and cyclical Electrical Maintenance and upgrades at Nexperia s Northern Powerhouse at 70,000m2 with over 1100+ employees on site working in design, manufacturing and business support.
What a Facilities Electrical Engineer will do
The facilities team is responsible for providing a safe, compliant and state of the art site for our employees, visitors and customers. The facilities team are involved in shaping and future proofing the facilities capabilities as one of the UKs largest semiconductor manufacturing sites.
In this position you will be responsible for various high and low voltage electrical systems across the site, focusing on Electrical Services Compliance and Maintenance. You will fully manage the delivery of responsive, planned and cyclical maintenance that meets health and safety requirements plus lead key projects. You will also have a team of two direct reports plus the management of several specialist contractors on site for maintenance of compliant services such as fire alarms, emergency lighting, high voltage networks and more.

Other responsibilities include:
Working with uninterruptable power supplies
Working with access control systems, CCTV and CHP (Combined Heat & Power generators)
Project managing various upgrades and changes, ensuring timelines are met
Ensuring electrical records, reports and procedures are reviewed, maintained and meet industry standards
Providing leadership and direction to the team whilst managing external contractors on site
Prioritising the teams workload with incoming change requests from stakeholders
Working in line with current legislation & Health and safety standards
What you will need
Essential requirements include:
Ability to work on site Monday to Friday 8am until 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and until 2pm Friday
NVQ Level 3 certification in Electrical Installation or maintenance (or time served equivalent qualification)
17th or 18th Edition Electrical Installations qualified
Knowledge of current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
3+ Years of experience in industrial or commercial electrical maintenance
Exposure to Team leadership, or mentoring & contractor management
Project management exposure
Desirable skills include:
Periodic Electrical Inspection & Testing certification
Cleanroom or semiconductor experience
High voltage awareness
Contractor management experience
