This is a busy and varied role that will see you working on-site in Brighton as well as travelling and working at events across the UK and beyond.If you have strong IT support knowledge and experience, including setting up computers, printers, Wi-Fi, and networking. As well as being a logical thinker with great communication skills who is calm under pressure. Then this could be your ideal position. Essentials Full UK Driving Licence, and ability to drive vans (usually transit style or smaller). Strong working knowledge of basic IT systems, small networks and WiFi, including: Network architecture, IP address protocols, subnet masking, routing, DCHP, DNS, and firewalls. WiFi, including standard encryption options and basic mesh principles. Basic Windows group policies and hardware settings, especially regarding networking, display, sleep and standby modes. Network attached printing, setting and managing static IPs, PC and Printer based print settings. Good ability to troubleshoot and conduct independent research to resolve issues for yourself and for others on the team. Professional and presentable in high end corporate environments, liaising directly with clients, many of whom are often senior company directors or VIPs. Key Responsibilities On-site Event Technician Role: Travelling and working at events across the UK and beyond. This role involves travel and time away from home with time off in lieu given as appropriate. Additional payments for any extended days away from home. Preparing, testing and transporting equipment for each event. Setting up computers, network, wifi, printers etc at hotels and conference centres. Troubleshooting systems and ensuring everything is working as intended for this specific event, usually in a tight timescale. Managing and monitoring the system throughout the event and supporting event staff who have any issues using the system. Packing down and returning equipment to the office. Assisting with attendee registration and other on-site team roles as required Technical Team Leader: Inspire and help lead a small team of Event IT Technicians. Set a strong example in standards from a technical and professional point of view. Identify gaps in knowledge or other areas for potential development within the team. Equipment Management: Be responsible for the allocation of appropriate equipment to events checking for overallocations, clashes and related issues. Take overall responsibility for the equipment prep and de-prep, ensuring that systems are in place and adhered to by the team. Create and oversee a system for sensible kit rotation and tracking equipment use. Create and oversee a system for equipment maintenance / updates etc. Benefits Full-time role – usually 9am-5.30pm but with longer event days (with time off in lieu).
