ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is looking to recruit a Managing Director to head their new Door Manufacturing Business in Durham. The role is suitable for experienced Production Managers seeking advancement, as well as seasoned Directors who have progressed from the shop floor through management ranks.
The workshop currently specializes in doorsets, primarily supplying the carpentry side of the Group. There are long-term plans to expand into bespoke joinery and cabinetry for external projects, presenting an exciting opportunity.
You will be responsible for managing the workshop and production line of all projects, overseeing business development, design, estimating, production, and logistics, with regular meetings at their London HQ, which will be fully expensed.
Duties
* Oversee and supervise all manufacturing operations
* Develop strategies to improve efficiency and meet production goals
* Ensure safety and quality compliance
* Manage manufacturing processes to reduce costs and increase productivity; collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives
* Monitor KPIs to identify improvement areas
* Manage the manufacturing budget, including financial forecasting and cost control
* Lead and mentor manufacturing staff to achieve objectives
Requirements
The role is open to experienced Production Managers looking to advance, as well as Directors who have risen through the ranks. The ideal candidate must be trustworthy, reliable, conscientious, and a team player.
* Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
* Proven leadership experience in manufacturing
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, safety regulations
* Excellent problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making ability
* Experience managing budgets and financial resources
* Strong leadership and motivational skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
