Role Overview:
Seeking a passionate and dedicated Head of Maths to lead our Maths department. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a high-quality Maths curriculum tailored to the specific needs of our students. As the Head of Maths, you will be responsible for leading a team of teachers, ensuring that teaching approaches are inclusive, engaging, and effective in meeting the diverse needs of our pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the Maths department, providing direction, support, and guidance to staff members.
2. Develop and implement a bespoke Maths curriculum that caters to the individual needs of our students.
3. Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons that promote student progress and achievement.
4. Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted intervention and support where necessary.
5. Collaborate with other departments and senior leadership to promote cross-curricular links and holistic student development.
6. Ensure that teaching resources and materials are accessible and appropriate for students with diverse learning needs.
7. Establish and maintain effective communication channels with parents, carers, and external agencies.
8. Lead and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the Maths department.
Requirements:
9. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Mathematics or a related field.
10. Proven experience teaching Maths to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), preferably in a similar educational setting.
11. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of staff.
12. Excellent understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with complex educational needs.
13. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and stakeholders.
14. Commitment to inclusive education and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of students.
15. Knowledge of relevant SEN legislation and best practices in SEND education.
16. Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 14.3% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
